I've nearly done customising an old baity Baby Sundance - however while I was cleaning it, Julian pointed out the grottyness of the eyes.
Being of the engineering type, he's dismantled the head (slitting the back of the eye sockets and dismantling the eyes) and has since fixed the broken spindles where they rotate. Fixing them back in seems to be a trickier matter - not yet done.
However the more macabre customiser may find the followed dismantled work-in-progress amusing :)

So that's what they look like!!

Good heavens though. I'm rather impressed with that. You'll have to set up a tutorial so people can clean up rusty-eyed BBEs. Can you re-eyelash them as well?

hmm.. not done that yet ;)

I'm afraid my part of the restoration work was limited to leaving the eyes bubbling in an Oxyclean solution and the rust still won't come off..
I doubt the benefit of a tutorial, as having seen the process thus far, I wouldn't wish it upon anyone as a project!!

Limescale! Rust! Ground-in dirt!
They're a challenge for some household cleaners, but not for Cillit Bang!

Sorry... couldn't resist...

It does look mighty fiddly as a process though... :S
