One of my favourite clothes websites has a sale on, including these rather nice costumey boots
I already have similar but much lower heel.

Can 3" heel boots be comfortably used to walk around in and generally used, in people's opinion?
(Would be a shame if they only got used very occasionally as part of a costume, due to being more a footwear to sit down in and show off... ;P)

I know a couple of people who routinely wear a three-inch heel, but they can manage it because they routinely wear a three-inch heel. I'll bet someone who never wears heels would have a lot more trouble.

There is, however, merit in having footwear to sit down in and show off.

I too was going to suggest the best way to find out if a 3" heel is comfortable, is to wear a 3" heal everyday. If they kill, at least you'll still have a great pair of costume boots.

I'd be able to wear those fairly comfortably/easily. I wear 3.5" wedges as my most-used footwear at the moment (for walking around town, shopping, etc.) and that's a nice chunky heel :)

Boots are generally easier to wear as they cling and support round the ankle. I'd not go rambling or walking for several miles in heels but I'd find such boots easy enough to wear for a convention, to dance for hours at a club or to work. I do have some XP in wearing heels though, though not as much as people think as I do a lot of walking so live in MBT type things. You might be different, and buying shoes or boots online is hazy as you can't try them on to see if they fit ok.

Nailo hit on head. You need XP in wearing heels - they don't usually hurt that much if they're well fitting and chunky but if you *always* wear flatties they may feel uncomfortable at first or if only worn occasionally.

Thanks everyone!
In fact I alrady have some costumey boots that I think atr a bit over 3" in hight and don't get used a lot, only used at conventions a little.
I deliberately "trained" myself to wear them by wearing heels at work for a number of months, so the balance thing is mostly OK..
I agree it depends on chunkyness of heel though.
