tictactoeponyAs some of you might know, we have a sort-of-ongoing-battle with the noise from idiot customers from the pub/hotel our house is next to.
As drunken idiots think it's fun to hang around and yell at each other in the wee small hours, and the pub/hotel can't really be bothered doing much usually to limit this.
After a couple of weekends in which some especially annoying late-night idiots occurred, I called local Environmental Health to give them an update (I made the previous formal complaint back in January).
To my surprise, the guy in charge called me back today. He's spoken to the pub/hotel manager, and from this weekend onwards, the pub tables out the back (near us!) will ONLY be used lunchtimes. And will be stored out of the way at other times.
OK so there will probably be some lurking smokers still. But it definitely sounds like a reasonably simple plan to discourage late-night-table-lurkers.
And might even mean less evening-smoking-table-lurker smoke wafting into the house. Who knows? Shall see how it goes.
